As someone who is this situation myself, Its hard to understand how did the older generation survived with a spouse they don’t even know in best case or worse?
A divorce when it s needed is a good thing not a bad thing. The question is why all this hate? Why is there a need to fight? Its understandable the emotions run high, and everyone looks out for there best interest. but is there really a need for the nonsense in my situation that is gold compered to others I could tell it has been painful enough.

This is how a divorce looks in our community;
First its all the gossip and every smoiger has his opinion and know exactly when where and what, when its not even existing. Then you got all the Rabunim, Machers, that got involved 10 guys with about 500 opinions, that itself could make you crazy. Above is still the survivable part. After months of being ignoring in shalping with good reasons of curse, or it 2 months before Pashec who has time now? or a wadding of an aunt that can’t be destroyed. Or stom not feeling good that day. The real war start everyone tries to grab the bigger toyen, there success is measured in who could call you more names in a 60 second period and charges more. A good lawyer who could shlap tens of thousand of dollars out of you for gaining 100 on child support or a % on assets. if you’re successful you got your spouse arrested overnight, and the cherry on the pie is getting a Hater Maiu Rabunim!! Then you really win!! The Kids; let not even discus how you could play around or use them in the fight. One spouse all of sudden becomes extremely frum and the other a goy. Who cars how the kids will grow up? I’m sure there much better writers here that could draw a much better picture then I do.

A Good Marriage is undeniable hard work from both parties on daily basis. If god forbid it doesn’t work out and all else has failed you should move on. Now ill ask the real question again Why all the fighting? Is there anyone who gained from it?

As a successful entrepreneur I have decided not the go down that road my goals are clear and written. I suffered for 2 years already. As a strong man and my situation is not the worst out there I could tell you there is no pain like it. I do think that expectations is a result of feminism but it's not that important what caused it. But you're raising a different issue entirely. That it's the women that are pushing back on feminism. I guess there might be some truth to this because of the way girls in our community are raised, never to trust their opinion , but I'd venture to say that it's hard to make generalizations like that. There are women with strong opinions and usually when They do start demanding more they're considered evil and rebellious for revolting against Hashem's plan for the world.

I think one of the biggest issues are that we are raised in such different worlds. There's almost no overlap in interests. Add to that the very different way of communication, not only language, and no effort in ensuring the couple is compatible and you have a situation where spouses would rather spend their time with friends of their gender than try to find common ground.

It's interesting that you're saying that more men laugh at the system. I was very surprised to find kave shteibel. I always thought that way more women think in grey and nuances than men.

But you do raise an I interesting point that deserves its own thread. First of all, are there less women that dont take the system so seriously, and two, if it's true why is it like this and why is it 'harder' for them, as you say.

Part of the answer might be the sample size of people who you interact with. If you interact only with men, or only with women, your opinion will be different.
